Why does this place inspire that kind of generosity?
In 1955, a group of New Jersey neighbors, working with the Museum of Modern Art and its legendary education director Victor D'Amico, imagined an art center where anyone could learn to make art. In 1956, that idea became your Art Center.
The press release below, from MoMA's own archives tells the story.
Seventy years later, we're still doing exactly what those founders imagined: teaching sculpture, painting, watercolor, and printmaking to students of every age and level, in the same community, with the same open door.
Your gift keeps that door open, and this summer it counts twice.

And if your gift is $100 or more, plan to visit us September 27 for our Matching Gift Reception and Art Give-Away, where donors take home a piece from our archival collection or by a contemporary studio artisan.
The Center will have a collection of archival and contemporary art pieces that qualifying donors can claim that evening!

Donors above $100 select first, with $100 donors randomly drawn to choose a piece in sequence (while supplies last) until all the art pieces are claimed. This reception is open to all.
